FAQ

Why is River Hills Club the best choice for a Tennis and Athletic Club?

River Hills Club has a record of stellar tennis since 1964 and under the watchful eye of tennis enthusiast W.E. “Slew” Hester, a charter member, the club was formulated.  During his term as President of the USTA he founded the Flushing Meadows Arena believing tennis should be more accessible to the general public.  In 2011 River Hills Club won the prestigious USTA Outstanding Facility Award which confirms our commitment to tennis and good health.

How do I become a member of the Club?

Prospective members must complete an application for membership with a signature from one member sponsor.  The application is then submitted to the Board of Directors, and after approval it is placed in the foyer of the Club for three business days. After this process the new member is contacted for an appointment to get a membership packet and pay all necessary fees.

What type of membership categories are there and is it an equity club?

There are six categories of membership including Stockholder, Junior, Senior, Non-Resident, Social and Student.  Only the Stockholder buys stock and is an equity owner.  The Junior member may remain so until the age of 40 at which time the Junior member may convert to Stockholder.  The Stockholder is the only category that is allowed to vote during elections.

What facilities does the club have?

River Hills has a Junior Olympic swimming pool, 24 tennis courts of which 4 are indoors, 4 are hard courts, 4 are pickleball courts and 12 are modified hydro clay courts.  The Indoor Center has a Pro Shop, a weight room, cardio-vascular equipment room, a state-of –the-art Aerobics room, a nursery, a massage therapy room, and locker rooms, all recently renovated.
